Nothing says summer like the sights and sounds of a vibrant farmer’s market overflowing with blooms, fresh produce and other local goodies. And here in Charlotte, we love our markets from urban groceries to roadside stands. 11 markets worth a Saturday morning trip to:
Charlotte Regional Farmers Market
1801 Yorkmont Road
Tuesday-Saturday 8 AM-5PM
You haven’t shopped a farmer’s market until you’ve shopped the at the Charlotte Regional Farmer’s Market. Here you can grab the freshest produce from all over the area, local wines, flowers, crafts and artisan goods. Go early in the day for the best picks from all of the vendors.
King’s Drive Farmer’s Market
939 S. Kings Drive
Tuesday-Friday 6AM-6PM; Saturday 6AM-3PM
The roadside market that draws crowds all over the area is a Saturday morning favorite. As you’re running errands in the Metropolitan or walking along the Greenway, stop at Kings Drive for produce, meat, local jams and all of your gardening needs. Don’t be intimidated by the parking lot, there are attendants making sure you can get in and out quickly and easily.

Providence Produce Market

Plaza Midwood Farmers Market

This local market is on a mission to deliver the best produce to their Charlotte neighbors. All vendors featured at the Plaza Midwood Farmers Market are small local and organic producers delivering meat, eggs, honey and other produce each Saturday. Mecklenburg County Market

Pay a visit to the oldest farmers market in NC dating all the way back to 1937. Today the Mecklenburg County Market is still running strong and serving up Beverly’s Gourmet Foods, fresh produce and a large variety of tomatoes year-round.

Step into a culinary tour of North Carolina at Atherton Mill. Talk to local farmers and artisans about their products and stock up on produce, fish, pre-packaged meals and even hand crafted coffee at this Southend favorite. 7th Street Public Market

This half market, half gourmet grocery is a food lover’s dream.
